Financial Analysis Projects

The financial analysis projects involve a thorough financial analysis of specific companies and industries to make recommendations for an investment portfolio. The analysis will use four companies in the hotel industry:  Basic concept for analysis: Conduct an analysis of industry prospects and individual companies selected.

Group Project 1 (10 points)

Do a complete quantitative financial analysis for the companies in the industry, based on Chapter 4 format and present in an Excel spreadsheet: use the template (Financial Analysis) available on my webpage. Data are on sheet 1 of the template. Complete the Financial Analysis (sheet 2 of the template). Due September 22.

Group Project 2 (10 points)

Do a complete quantitative market analysis for the companies in the industry, based on Chapter 6 format and present in an Excel spreadsheet: use the template (Financial Analysis) available on my webpage. Complete the Financial Analysis: Calculate the information in bold. Due October 6.

Group Project 3 (40 points)

The purpose of this project is to conduct a specialized earnings management analysis of the companies in your industry. Use the earnings management template. Each individual will complete the analysis of one company and unlike the first two projects, turn it in separately. Due December 8.
