Greetings from the Professional Program office.

Looking back on the past year, the Professional Program has continued to prosper.  Among the memorable achievements are:

Group 14 graduated and included the 2,000th graduate from the program.

All 254 students in Group 15 received internships.  Many of you worked with these students during their internships.  I would hope you feel they display the level of confidence and professionalism that makes the Texas A&M Professional Program students leaders.

Two hundred forty nine students became members of Group 16.  We are continually able to attract outstanding students of Mays Business School.

The Entrepreneurial Leadership Track was introduced during the spring semester.  Students will receive an MS in Accounting and will focus on preparing for either a tax or audit career.  The track features a sequence of four courses focusing on entrepreneurial skills offered by the Department of Management.

Take a look at the statistics section of our website, http://acct.tamu.edu/ppa/ , to learn about the growth of the program and the type of firm and location of our interns, and graduates.

The coming year will be my last as Director of the Professional Program as I plan to retire at the end of the 2007-08 academic year.  As the year passes, I hope to see many of our graduates as they come back to campus to make presentations to classes and to recruit.  During the past year, I received emails from many of our graduates telling me about what is going on their world.  It is not possible for me to fully thank you for keeping in touch - It means so much that you took the time to keep in touch.  I apologize if I am tardy in responding, but I will write.

We have an outstanding staff in the Professional Program office.

There are many things that caused the program to become a leader in accounting education.
