    Texas A&M's Professional Program offers you the opportunity to become a highly skilled professional who is ready to compete, succeed and lead in today's high-technology, global and competitive environment. Our advanced curriculum, thoroughly integrated with real-world practices, will help you reach your ultimate goal, whether it's becoming a partner in an international public accounting firm, managing your own business, setting up your own accounting practice or becoming CFO of a major corporation or financial institution.

    The Professional Program provides:

    • Development of sound conceptual, technical, analytical, communication and leadership skills
    • Interactive classes taught by experienced faculty with superior teaching and professional credentials
    • Development of decision making and teamwork skills through extensive use of case studies and class discussions
    • Optional internships awarded by accounting firms, corporations and government agencies to provide real-world accounting experience
    • Access to professional opportunities, including public accounting firms and industry including Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and other cities
    • Fulfillment of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam educational requirement
     
    Specialty Tracks  

    The Assurance Services/Information Management Track develops skills needed to audit or consult with multinational corporations and financial institutions. Graduates in this track generally begin their professional careers in the audit division of a CPA firm or with a consulting firm.

    The Financial Management Track focuses on developing analytical skills necessary for decision-making roles in today's complex business environment. Graduates in this track are prepared for careers in consulting with CPA firms, corporations or financial institutions.

    The Management Information Systems Track develops skills needed to design and evaluate technology-based information systems. Graduates in this track often begin their careers in CPA firms, corporations or consulting firms.

    The Tax Planning Track emphasizes the fundamental and contemporary aspects of tax in the current business environment. Graduates choosing this track commonly plan for a career in a CPA firm or corporate tax department.

    The Marketing Track is designed to develop the competencies needed for a successful marketing career. Graduates of this track are prepared for careers in Consulting, Brand Managment, Market Analysis, Marketing Research, and marketing managment.

    Financial Assistance  
    Most students are able to finance much of their fifth year with funds earned from internships during the spring or summer of their senior year. In addition, a number of scholarships are available to fifth year Professional Program students. Out-of-state students with either academic scholarships or assistantships pay in-state tuition. Loans may also be available from the Texas Society of CPAs.
