The Internal Auditing Program

Following Texas A&M's approval as an Endorsed Internal Auditing Program of the Institute of Internal Auditors, a number of prominent firms, including manufacturing, major banks, retailing, and public accounting firms have expressed interest in hiring graduates of the program.

At a recent Career Fair, Caroline Schlemmer and Jen Treier were on campus recruiting students for the Corporate Audit Department at Bank One Corporation, for both full time and intern positions.
Recruiters from  NationsBank Corporation came to campus looking for top-notch internal auditors.  They came to the right place.  On their lunch break from recruiting are the following:  Wesley Lawhorn (Aggie '95), Staff Auditor; K.C. Mark Conrey, CBA, EDP Senior Auditor; Carrie Barnes (Aggie '97), Staff Auditor; and Mark Murray, Audit Manager.
Randy Stewart, Director of Internal Audit for Haliburton Company and Dan Newton (Aggie '66), Assistant Controller for Brown and Root, visited campus to discuss the Internal Auditing Program.
The Houston Chapter of the IIA played a pivotal role in the endorsement of the TAMU Internal Auditing Program. At the 1997 meeting of the IIA, the Houston Chapter was recognized as the "International Chapter of the Year for Academic Relations." Jennifer Wehr accepts the award on behalf of the Houston Chapter.
