The Houston Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is looking for qualified students to apply for summer internships with our member companies.  In the past, companies such as Texaco, El Paso Energy, American General, Methodist Hospital and others have participated in this program by providing internship opportunities in their Internal Audit departments.  The participating companies will contact each applicant directly and will make all hiring decisions.

Criteria For Application

You may apply to interview for an internal audit internship if, prior to the start of the internship, you satisfy the following criteria:

Business major in accounting, finance or computer related discipline;
2.75 cumulative grade point average and/or 3.0 grade point average in your major;
At least a Junior status;
Accounting majors: completion of at least 12 credit hours in accounting.  For other eligible majors; completion of at least 12 hours in your major and 6 credit hours in accounting; and Good oral and written communication skills.

How to Apply

If you meet (or will meet) these criteria:

Complete the application form;
Attach a current resume;
The IIA Academic Relations Committee will review and submit your resume and application to the participating companies who will contact you directly for interviews.
