Accounting 651--Contemporary Financial
Reporting
This masters level course examines contemporary financial reporting issues. Students obtain an understanding of the institutional, ethical, and regulatory environment that shapes financial reporting practices. Students also develop a framework for exercising judgment when accounting literature provides no direct prescription about correct reporting. Judgment skills are enhanced through unstructured cases and open-ended research assignments of current practice issues utilizing electronic information search and discovery.
